As the daughter of a prolific artist, my life has been encompassed by art. The gift of being surrounded by creativity has not only immersed me into the world of art and design but it has given me the insight and empathy to recognize that I have the ability to influence the world around me.
My artistic career has taken me in various directions of commercial art and design. In recent years, my passion has led me to full time painting.
I attended the Art Institute of Boston, now renamed Lesley University College of Art and Design in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Rutgers University in New Jersey.
My paintings are a combination of realistic imagery with a deep influence of pure design. The execution of my paintings begin with a vision, and incorporate abstract elements of color and shape.
My work evolves from my reaction to an image. My concept begins with an impassioned response to an observation and then incorporates design elements that depict my intent.I explore the complex relationship between realism and imagination.
Interspersed in my artistic endeavors, I have taken detours because I felt compelled to help people in need. That same creativity that gives me the vision to see the end result of a painting, also enables me to envision solutions to societal issues. Some of my most notable accomplishments have been the creation of a hospital visitation program, that for more than 30 years, continues to serve the Jewish community in their time of need. I am also the co-founder of Bryan’s House (the first residential facility with comprehensive services for children with AIDS).
In addition to commissioned paintings, my work has been exhibited in Dallas at the Craighead Green Gallery, Modartists Gallery, a juried show at The Art Hotel Gallery, a one women exhibition at the Aloft Hotel Gallery, The Prairie Dog Gallery, MJ & S Fine Art Gallery, the Dallas Contemporary Museum and Scottsdale, Arizona ‘s Zanadu Gallery catalog and website. In 2012, my painting “Occupy” was selected to be in the “New Texas Talent” competition at the Craighead Green Gallery.
