BioI am a figurative artist and printmaker. I received the BFA from SUNY at Buffalo and was awarded a scholarship for the MFA program at Ohio State University. After completing my studies, I traveled to Israel where I became a professor of sculpture and etching for three years at The Art Teachers Training College in Ramat HaSharon. After returning to the U.S. I worked as an art director for Conde Nast in NYC. Although the experience was wonderful, for many years I had longed to return to my real passion. I have the good fortune to be doing that now.
Much of my work centers on narratives about women; their emotions, inner beauty, extraordinary strength and relationships to one another. I strive to capture the immediacy of the women's soul by illustrating body language in motion. In more recent works, I feel it is my responsibility and pride to depict our Jewish female ancestry. For we need to know where we came from to know who we are...and rejoice in that knowledge.
