Join a text study with community rabbis then use that as inspiration to create something new with local Jewish artists. Try something you’ve never done before or learn more about a medium you’re familiar with. Free registration below...

All art pieces and performances will be shown at the community Through a Jewish Lens art reception at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center on January 7, from 4 to 6 pm.

There is no cost to participate in a studio or to attend the reception. Registration is required for the studios (below).

Glass Fusing with Nan Phillips

Use your inspiration from the text study to create your own fused glass piece with artist Nan Phillips. If the piece is not able to be fired at the program, Nan will take it back to Dallas to fire it and ship to you. 10 studio spaces available.

Transform your Jewish learning into your own painting with artist Gloria Sepp. 10 studio spaces available.

Mosaic with Marvin Beleck

Create a mosaic piece to reflect the morning’s revelations with artist Marvin Beleck. 10 studio spaces available.

Work as a group with violinist Sarah Price and create a new piece of music to reflect the morning’s  learning. Bring your instrument if you have one. 10 studio spaces available.

We invite the community to join us at 4 pm on Sunday, January 7 for the art reception of Through a Jewish Lens at the Scott Theater in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.

The performance will include an excerpt from Suki John's choreodrama "Sh'Ma", three pieces from Schindler's List for Violin, an excerpt from Ha' Mapah, string chamber works, and a poetry reading.  There will also be audience participation performances including a traditional Israeli dance taught and lead by a member of Rikud Dallas.  Other performers include: Reina Bensimon, Jennifer Mabus, Jude McCoy, Christina Kim, Yu-Ho Chang
